Job Summary

The Pilates Reformer Instructor is a part-time position responsible in assisting their clients,
members, and guests by being approachable and knowledgeable of current fitness trends, proper
fitness technique, and creating fun & effective exercise programs to help members reach their
fitness & wellness goals. Must have a nationally recognized certification in Pilates
Reformer/Pilates Mat. This is a position that requires the ability to work varying shifts, nights,
weekends, and holidays.

Reporting Relationships

Reports directly to the Wellness Program Coordinator and works in tandem with General
Assistant Manager and Director of Employee and Member Relations.

Responsibilities and Authorities

    • Apply your enthusiasm to connect with people, seek to understand their unique needs,
      and prescribe the perfect fitness solution
    • Build a fitness community by being attentive during every group session or class
    • Your strong communication and teaching skills help to motivate people with a wide
      variety of fitness levels
    • Through your outgoing and engaging personality, you will help to increase member
      retention and client acquisition
    • You deliver a positive fitness experience to members and guests
    • You deliver a world-class experience to club members
    • Plan and deliver an energizing and motivating 45-60-minute Pilates Mat/Pilates Reformer
      class
    • Provide subbing support when available
    • Accurately and consistently utilize company software to track teaching schedule, to
      request and offer subbing support, to view class rosters, and record class attendance
    • Hiring and scheduling of additional support for events

Experience and Qualifications

      • Must be outgoing, energetic, and have the physical ability to teach Pilates
      • At least 1 year experience teaching Pilates Reformer
      • Current CPR, AED and First Aid certification or obtain certification within the first 60 days of
        hire and maintain current certification thereafter
      • Strong work ethic and ability to operate efficiently in a team environment
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Demonstrates positive leadership and staff management skills
      • Must be self-motivated and willing to serve the membership and fellow department heads
      • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
      • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with
        minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required and willing to work hours including, days,
        evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business requirements and operational needs
      • Positive attitude, team player/builder, and professional appearance in all situations
      • Must be able to exemplify the highest standards of honesty and integrity

Working Conditions and Physical Functions

        • Must be able to work in a busy environment. At least 1 year experience teaching Pilates Reformer
        • Must be able to work in a warm or cold environments at times
        • Functions outside may require working in a hot, sunny, cool, cold, and/or rainy conditions
        • Strong verbal and written communication skills
        • Independent mobility throughout Clubhouse and Club property
        • Manual dexterity to handle computer.
        • Hearing and speaking sufficient to communicate with members, guests, and co-workers
        • Bending, squatting, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 lbs. or more, constant standing, turning,
          and walking
